Gig Poster [Digital, PS CS5, ©2012] Our first assignment in the newly declared Poster Design class was to create a poster for a musician, gig, or festival. The choice was ours. I went with my favorite genre of Bossa Nova, or Brazilian Jazz. This kind of music was often played during cocktail parties or lounge scenes back in the 1960s. With that said, my color scheme had to be specific. I used shades mostly warm that resonated associations with tropical weather, while at the same time being bold to express a certain abstraction which defined the time period.
